1. Overview
ChatGPT Image & Prompt Exporter is a Chrome extension that helps users export generated images and associated available prompts from the currently open ChatGPT conversation. This policy explains how version 2.1.7 handles information.
2. Information handled
The extension may locally access or process generated images and image URLs; user prompts associated with generated images; the conversation title; conversation URL or identifier; message and image identifiers needed for matching; user-selected filenames; extension settings; locally cached prompt-image mappings; and export status or error information.
3. How information is used
This information is used only to detect generated images, associate available prompts, generate filenames, create ZIP, CSV and prompt files, remember settings, improve local prompt recovery, and display progress or errors.
4. Local processing and storage
Processing occurs locally in the user’s browser. The developer does not receive prompts, images or conversation content. Settings and cached prompt-image mappings are stored through Chrome extension storage. Extension controls let users clear the current conversation cache or all cached prompt mappings. Uninstalling the extension removes extension-managed local storage, subject to Chrome behavior.
5. Data transmission
The extension does not transmit conversation content to developer-operated servers. It may request image resources from URLs supplied by ChatGPT/OpenAI in order to download or package them. No analytics, advertising, tracking or payment service is currently integrated.
6. Data sharing and sale
User data is not sold or shared with advertisers or data brokers. User content is not used for personalized advertising. Humans working for the developer do not access user prompts or images through the extension.
7. Permissions
- downloads: saves image and ZIP exports requested by the user.
- storage: remembers local settings, consent and prompt mappings.
- scripting: restores the ChatGPT page bridge after an extension update when needed.
- Host permissions: access is limited to ChatGPT pages and required OpenAI image-delivery domains, including
chatgpt.com,chat.openai.com,oaiusercontent.comand the configured OpenAI blob-delivery host.
8. Data retention and deletion
Settings and prompt mappings remain locally until cleared or the extension is uninstalled. Users can clear data for the current conversation or clear all cached prompt mappings from extension settings. The developer does not hold a server-side copy.
9. Security
Executable code, including JSZip, is packaged with the extension. No remote executable JavaScript is loaded. Permissions are limited to functions required for scanning the active ChatGPT conversation and creating user-requested exports.
10. Children
The extension is a general productivity tool and is not directed specifically at children under 13.
11. Changes
This policy may be updated when extension functionality, platform requirements or legal requirements change. The current update date will appear at the top of this page.
